Gasum TSO showed excellent performance in European benchmark for gas TSOs

Gasum Transmission System Operator (TSO) took part in the European cost-efficiency benchmark for gas transmission system operators in 2017–2019 organized by the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER). Gasum TSO showed excellent performance according to the Transmission System Cost Efficiency benchmark (TCB18) compared with other TSOs.

The Transmission Cost Benchmarking 2018 (TCB18) was a project carried out by the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER) to initiate a stable and regular process for performance assessment of energy transmission system operators. The model considered both investment efficiency and operating efficiency under a given set of environmental conditions.

According to the benchmark, the estimated efficiency level of Gasum TSO was 96.1%, which was great compared with the mean cost efficiency level of 79%. There were no ranking lists of the participants, but the benchmark project involved in total 29 TSOs from Europe.

The project lasted from December 2017 to June 2019, involving workshops and data collection and validation, followed by calculation and reporting.
