Julia Haaramäki: Shaping new roles
Julia Haaramäki works as Gasum’s first treasury & risk analyst, a role she has helped shape. Balancing treasury operations and credit risk management, she thrives in a supportive team environment that encourages growth and collaboration.
I work as a treasury & risk analyst at Gasum. This is a completely new position, which makes it exciting because I can shape the role and influence the tasks it includes. At the moment, my main focus is on the daily treasury operations, particularly monitoring and managing liquidity. On the risk management side, I primarily handle credit risks and related reporting. You could say my role is a hybrid between these areas.

Julia Haaramäki, Gasum
I graduated with a master’s degree in economics in 2022, but I started at Gasum earlier, in 2021, as a back-office specialist while working on my thesis. A friend of mine, who worked at Gasum at the time, recommended the role to me. I found the job description really interesting, and the company’s values aligned with my own. During my time as a back-office specialist, I handled various treasury and risk-related support tasks. As I progressed in my role, I took on more challenging and demanding tasks, which eventually led me to my current position as a Treasury & Risk Analyst. This role aligns well with my educational background, allowing me to apply what I learned in my studies.
Gasum provides plenty of relevant training opportunities, which have been incredibly helpful for my professional growth. You’re never stuck in one place here—if you demonstrate skills in something, there are always more challenging tasks available for you to take on.
At Gasum, the workplace atmosphere has been nothing but supportive. A thorough onboarding process ensures that new employees integrate smoothly and gain the skills they need. From the start, I’ve felt supported in getting up to speed, and when I recently spoke with newer employees, they echoed the same experience of a welcoming work environment and warm atmosphere.
